Elwynna was a fox I met whilst lost and stuck in a bramble clump in some woodlands close to my studio. She looked at me and I looked at her, and neither of us wanted to move in case the other attacked. I kept very still and admired her beauty and after a while she crept away into the undergrowth whilst I had a very prickly time with the brambles until I could also escape. As soon as I got to the studio I began to draw out the fox I remembered and she eventually became a watercolour painting.
