Bess was inspired by leverets I met when I was invited to draw at the local wildlife rescue hospital. There were two leverets who were quite lively, they had been found in a field apparently abandoned by the mother, a watch had been put on them before the decision to help them to make sure that their mother wasn't coming back to them. No leveret or young animal/bird should be touched unless you really know what you are doing as sometimes the parent isn't far away and is waiting for you to leave the area.
 
On a happy note I think that my leveret Bess will affirm that there is always light at the end of any tunnel and new life waiting to begin again.
