The Fighting Tem O Hares
Much to my amusement I watched a pair of boxing hares in the Spring in a local field, there was a great deal of fur flying and the boxing seemed to go on quite some time, continuing into the morning light. This is usually the female, the Jill fighting off the amorous advances of the male (the Jack) if she doesn't feel that he would father strong leverets. Sometimes in fields there are several hares chasing one female and they never seem to give up.
The title I gave this piece was a nod to my favourite british artist, W M Turner, and was intended to be an amusing pun on his famous piece 'The Fighting Temeraire'.
