One of the two brown hare leverets I saw in the care of a local wildlife rescue centre. They were both very lively and took their bottles with enthusiasm when offered. It was a fantastic moment for me as a wildlife artist as the chances of seeing leverets in the wild would be very difficult. Leverets should never be picked up or moved from the fields because their mothers leave them during the day and go back to feed them in the evening when it is safer. They often have a white patch on top of their heads which is like a little star and is individual to each leveret.
