George - dormouse in winter nest

I was thrilled to be involved in a dormouse survey in some local woods even if it involved a bit of a walk to get to the area. We managed to find a couple and as it was October it was vital research to see how well the dormice were doing. A number of wood mice involved themselves in our activities and one ran up my husband's sleeved coat across his shoulders and down the other side to our amusement. The dormice were weighed and carefully put back by licensed members of the party.
